Lough Sallagh Lodges Limited – Terms and Conditions of Booking:


Lough Sallagh Lodges is a relaxation and retreat accommodation rather than a party venue. To preserve a tranquil environment for all our guests, loud music is not permitted after 23.00pm. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide a peaceful and restorative experience.


Standard Terms & Conditions:


Booking, Payments & Deposits:


For all accommodation bookings, a non-refundable booking deposit of 40% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining 60% is due 30 days before your check in date. Non-payment of remaining 60% balance will be considered a cancellation. Our system will send an email to the email account that you enter when booking, however in case there are any issues with your email account, or the email may go into your spam/junk folder, please make a note to remind yourself. Where bookings are made within 30 days of check in, full payment is required at the time of booking.


Cots and highchairs should be pre-booked when making your reservation, to guarantee availability. Please note this is a travel cot so you may wish to bring along your own cot mattress.


Accessible equipment is only available in Croppie's Cottage & Humbert Lodge. This should be pre-booked when making your reservation.


Booking additional services such as the Wellness Area can be made by contacting Lough Sallagh Lodges directly on lslodges@gmail.com or by WhatsApp on +353 85 8484304 subject to availability. It is advisable to book your preferred time and day as soon as possible to guarantee availability. A payment link will be sent to you if making payments for additional services while onsite.


Cancellation Policy:


A non–refundable booking deposit of 40% is required to confirm accommodation.

The balance is due 30 days before your check in date.

In event of cancellation the following charges apply:

a) Booking deposit is non-refundable

b) Full Charge - Full Stay - If cancelled within 5 days of arrival

c) Partial Charge - First Night Stay - If cancelled within 10 days of arrival

Refunds to credit cards are also liable to a 1.5% deduction.


However in certain circumstances and at the proprietors discretion, where a booking is cancelled, and Lough Sallagh Lodges can resell the accommodation booked, we may be able to offer a partial refund. This is not a guarantee and guests are advised to get in touch as soon as possible. Requests for cancellation of bookings can only be dealt with by email to lslodges@gmail.com


Refunds cannot be made for any amendments made to the booking on arrival or during your stay, including duration of your stay, or reduction of the number of guests in your party. We only allow bookings to be made by adults, and all groups of guests must include at least 1 adult per lodge. By booking you are confirming that you are 18 years of age or older.


The management of Lough Sallagh Lodges reserves the right to cancel or amend your booking at any time.


Lough Sallagh Lodges cannot accept responsibility or be liable for compensation for circumstances beyond our control including (but not limited to) natural disasters, industrial disputes, fire, technical problems, bad weather, acts of government, etc. We will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that the site is open for use by visitors during normal opening hours. However, we reserve the right, whether for safety reasons or otherwise, and with or without prior notice, to close the site or any part of it. In the event of a full closure, we will refund any customer the cost of his/her payments for accommodation. We try to be as weatherproof as possible, but everything has its limits, and safety comes first, so if we feel the site is unsafe for our guests, then we will cancel bookings and offer a full refund.


Arrival/Departure:


Check in time is from 3pm. We endeavour to meet and greet our guest on arrival however this is not always possible and you may be required to do a self check in. You can check in online via the Guest Experience portal on our website which will release further details of the self check in process.


Check out time is at 10.30am on morning of departure.


It is very important that you contact Damien, your host at least 24 hours prior to your arrival date to advise your time of arrival.

Guests that are not booked in are not permitted to stay overnight in the accommodation. Additional guests will be charged €80 per night, from the card used at time of booking. It is the lead bookers responsibility to ensure additional guests are checked in.


Damage/Loss of Property


The proprietors are not responsible for any loss of valuables or property, damage to valuables or property during your stay or left after departure.


You must use your accommodation and its contents with care and leave it in a clean and tidy condition on departure. We reserve the right to charge you for any deep cleaning, missing items or damage to the accommodation or its contents.


We reserve the right to enter your accommodation with prior notice for any reasonable purpose, for example, to make checks, maintenance work or housekeeping. In emergency situations, prior notice will not be given.


Accessible Equipment


There is a suite of accessible equipment available for booking such as hoist facilities, shower chairs, wheelchair accessible bicycles etc., to make your stay more comfortable. Guests who will be availing of these facilities, must confirm their competence of operating such equipment by watching the short online demonstration video and confirming their knowledge in operating the relevant piece of equipment.


Pet Policy:


Guide Dogs & Assistance Dogs are welcome and can only be accommodated in Croppie’s Cottage, Lough Sallagh Lodges. Please mention at time of booking. Guide dogs and Assistance dogs must be identifiable by official coat, lead and medallion to distinguish it as a working dog. Unfortunately no other pets are allowed and cannot be facilitated at Lough Sallagh Lodges. However, there is a number of local boarding kennels in the area. These are not affiliated with Lough Sallagh Lodges.


We respectfully ask that you keep your dog on a lead while outdoors as Lough Sallagh Lodges is located on a working farm, where other animals are present.


By bringing your Guide Dog/Assistance Dog to Lough Sallagh Lodges, you are accepting full responsibility for it at all times. It is your responsibility to clean up immediately after your dog defecates and dispose of it accordingly.


Smoking & Vaping:


Smoking & Vaping is not permitted inside any of the accommodations, inside any building on site, at any of the communal facilities or at the Wellness Area.


Children:


Children remain the responsibility of their parents/guardians at all times. Children must be within plain view of their parent/guardian at all times while in Lough Sallagh Lodges. The large area to the south of the accommodation includes some additional hazards such as a sauna, ice bath, uneven ground, fields, the lake and wetlands and children are not permitted in these area’s unaccompanied. Lough Sallagh Lodges is located on a working farm where farm animals/machinery/dangerous materials/electric fencing are present and under no circumstances are children permitted on the working farm. Children must be closely accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times when outside of their accommodation and must be accompanied on the laneways leading to and exiting Lough Sallagh Lodges. It is the parents/guardians responsibility to ensure that their children are well behaved and don’t cause a nuisance to or harm themselves or others while on site. We do not accept liability for any injury suffered by, or caused by unsupervised children on site.


Hot Tubs:


Croppies Cottage and Humbert Lodge include the use of a private hot tub. The hot tub will be filled, sterilised and set to the recommended temperature prior to arrival. Guest can adjust the heat as required. Due to the increased levels of chemicals required for a hot tub, children under 16 years are not permitted in the hot tub. The lid of the hot tub must be kept in the closed position at all times when the hot tub is unoccupied. Children staying in these accommodations must be supervised at all times to avoid any potential water incidents.


Wellness Area:


The Wellness Area consists of two seaweed baths, a sauna, an ice bath, outdoor shower & changing facility and a relaxation area. There is an additional charge for using the seaweed baths and these must be booked in advance, to avoid disappointment. The sauna, ice bath and relaxation area is free for guests booked into our accommodation however, it must be booked in advance, to avoid disappointment. Customer’s who are not staying in the accommodation but would like to avail of the Wellness Area, must book and pay in advance, to avoid disappointment.


Customer’s using the Wellness Area must use it within their allotted time to maintain a comfortable and fair experience for all customer’s and avoid overcrowding.

Customer’s are advised to:

  • Bring their own towels, swimwear & flipflops
  • Bring water to stay hydrated
  • Shower when moving between areas
  • Store their belongings in the allotted area
  • Leave valuables at home


Site Hazards:


Guests, please bear in mind that you are in the countryside, using country roads, in nature, and on an active site, where we are often undertaking farm operations or construction. There are numerous safety hazards on site which you should bear in mind during your visit. These include but are not limited to uneven ground, open drains, falling branches, open water (ie streams, lakes, hot tubs, seaweed baths, ice bath etc) falls from edges of decks/steps, traffic, stinging plants, stinging insects, slippery surfaces, thorny, spiky and poisonous trees and plants, farm machinery, lawn mowers and other heavy duty gardening and construction tools and plant, animals that may bite/nip ie donkeys, horses, dogs. Please note that this list is not exhaustive. By booking you are confirming that you and all members of your party accept that the site contains numerous hazards, including those listed, and that you accept the associated risks, and have sufficient common sense/the ability to support those in your care to avoid injury. More detail on site hazards can be seen at the end of this Ts & Cs document.


Dangerous Items:


No firearm, knife, air weapon, archery equipment, chinese lanterns, fireworks (including sparklers), illegal substances or similar items may be brought onto our site under any circumstances by you or anyone in your part.


Compensation Payable by You:


By booking you agree that we have the right either during or after your stay to recover from you, whether via the credit/charge or debit card used to pay for the break or otherwise, the costs of:

  • Any property or accommodation damage, and/or
  • Any cleaning over and above the level normally required after use of an accommodation unit or any communal area on site, as determined by Lough Sallagh Lodges Ltd.
  • Any compensation we may pay to others, and/or
  • Any other costs, fees or levies which we may incur, resulting from your action or inaction and from any breach of this agreement.


Compliance with these Terms & Conditions:


As the lead person booking, you are responsible for the behaviour of all guests in your party.


Behaviour should be in keeping with the family environment here at Lough Sallagh Lodges and should not be noisy or disruptive to other guests, especially at night.


Offensive or illegal behaviour will not be tolerated and can result in the Garda being contacted.


Offensive or aggressive behaviour or language towards our staff or other guests is not acceptable. We may ask you and/or any member of your party to leave immediately if your conduct results in Garda attendance or is considered by us to be inappropriate; likely to cause harm; or impair the enjoyment, comfort or safety of anyone; or is likely, in our belief, to breach any of this agreement.


No refunds or compensation will be given in these circumstances and we reserve the right not to accept any future bookings from you or any member of your party.


General Liability:


All vehicles’, e-scooters, electric bicycles etc. are parked at the guest/owner’s risk. Lough Sallagh Lodges Ltd. accept no liability for loss or damage while on site or otherwise.


Anyone found vandalising or causing damage to any building, equipment or property of Lough Sallagh Lodges faces immediate eviction and/or prosecution. The person who booked will be responsible for all charges for all damage/breakages/loss caused by themselves or their guest/visitors to the site, its facilities or other customers’ property.


Lough Sallagh Lodges Ltd. reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse entry on to or remove from its premises or the vicinity any person who:

  • Has been convicted of a criminal offence
  • Has behaved in a manner or is likely to affect the safety or enjoyment of other visitors
  • Has used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or in any way provokes of behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of peace.
  • Is thought to be intoxicated or under the influence of other substances
  • Is staying on site for any other use apart from holiday use

Fire:


The fire assembly point for Lough Sallagh Lodges is the parking area dedicated to Lough Sallagh Lodges. In the event of an emergency dial 999/112 for the emergency services and notify management/a staff member immediately.


Essential Information:


This agreement and any dispute between us (Lough Sallagh Lodges Ltd) will be governed by and construed in accordance with Irish Law. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Ireland over any matter arising out of our agreement or your visit. We must both act reasonably in selecting or agreeing any jurisdiction including any forum for dispute resolution.


Your stay will not give rise to any tenancy agreement between us.


Should any part of our agreement be deemed by law to be void, the remainder of this agreement will, if capable, continue in full force and effect. The headings in this agreement are included for convenience only and shall not affect its interpretation or construction.


In all cases, except personal injury or death, our liability to you for the total of all claims arising out of your break with us is limited to the cost of your booking less cancellation, amendment or separate charges. We will not be responsible for any matters that result from any unforeseeable events that are beyond our control.


Lough Sallagh Lodges Site Rules


  • All visitors to Lough Sallagh Lodges must contact management prior to arrival and visit during visiting hours (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
  • No commercial or transit vehicles are permitted on site.
  • Guest vehicles must be parked in the designated parking areas. Please ensure vehicles are parked neatly, not obstructing the road, and never driven or parked on grass.
  • Vehicles using the EV charging points must move their vehicle from this designated charging point, after it is charged to allow other guests to avail of this service.
  • Checkout time on day of departure is by 10.30am.
  • Children under 18 years of age must be supervised by and within view of a parent / guardian at all times while on site. Parents / guardians must take children with them if leaving site during their stay.
  • There is a strict noise curfew on site from midnight to 8 a.m. Please respect your neighbours by adhering to this.
  • Anyone causing disturbances on the site will be evicted from the park with no refund given. Please be mindful of neighbours when using TVs / Radios / listening to music at all times but particularly from 10pm.
  • All Assistance Dogs/Guide Dogs must be kept on a short lead and supervised by an adult at all times. Any damage caused by dogs are the responsibility of the dog owner, and cost of damage will be charged accordingly. Dog owners are responsible for disposing of their own dog’s poops.
  • Barbeques are allowed for cooking purposes only and must be used in the designated barbeque area, and not on decking/veranda outside the Lodges.
  • All vehicles must be insured while on site.
  • Naked flames, vaping and smoking is prohibited in all accommodation and other buildings on site.
  • Guests are responsible for keeping communal areas tidy and for recycling waste in the facilities provided. Please ensure that only clean recyclables are placed in the recycle bin.
  • Any damage / breakages / missing items must be reported and paid for.
  • There is no access to any fenced off area of the site at any time. Gates, fences, temporary fences or hedgerows are not to be scaled or crossed. Only unlocked gates are to be used to access one part of the site from another. Obey ‘No Entry’ signs and all other signage on site.
  • Guests must stick to roads, paths and mowed grass areas when on site.
  • Please do not approach or access any building/shed/barn/machinery or agricultural or building materials south of the phoenix gate
  • Please do not approach any maintenance/farming/building machinery operations or vehicle in use. Lough Sallagh Lodges is a working site with a working farm and constant building and maintenance. Please be aware of your surroundings and steer clear of any work being carried out.
  • The speed limit for all vehicles on site is 8km/hr, which is 5 mph, which is…..walking pace. Please drive carefully, there are children about.
  • Use of illicit drugs on site is forbidden. Excessive consumption of alcohol or intoxication is forbidden.
  • Before accessing the accommodation, guests must make themselves familiar with the site rules. It is the responsibility of the person checking in to ensure that all members of your party are aware of the site rules.


Site Hazards


Guests and visitors are asked to bear in mind that you are in the countryside, in nature, and on an active site, where we are often undertaking farm operations, construction, or large scale projects. There are numerous safety hazards on site which you should be aware of during your visit, including the following:


  • Uneven Ground – We do our best to maintain our mowing and keep everything looking neat, but certain areas of the site (even mowed areas) are quite uneven underfoot. Our roads are gravel roads and potholes frequently appear. Please be very careful walking on all parts of the site including entrance and exit lanes.
  • Falls from height – There are lots of small and large drains running along the borders of fields and edges of structures. The areas of land beside these can become overgrown as we allow our wildflowers to bloom at certain times of the year, so please take care to avoid stepping in a drain. We also have decking and platforms beside the lodges and in other areas throughout the site. Care is to be taken while on these decks.
  • Falling branches – We have many trees on site of all shapes and sizes, and we are in an exposed area, so they do from time to time drop a branch. Please be mindful of this particularly in windy weather.
  • Open Water – We have a lake close to the site however, we do not have direct access to the lake. This is the property of a third party so please do not cross the fields to access Lough Sallagh. Please use the main roadway. We also have Hottubs/Seaweed baths/Ice baths on site. Please be aware of this and particularly keep little ones within your sight at all times – even if your group are not using the particular facilities.
  • Fire – We have BBQs/Fire p on site. Please take care when using these and follow instructions provided. Again please keep an eye on your little ones to ensure they do not go near any of the above.
  • Traffic and farm / construction machinery – This is a year-round working site. Please be aware of your surroundings when traffic or machinery are in the area including tractor and ride-on lawn mowers which are used on an almost daily basis.
  • Plants, animals & insects – We are in Nature! There are a number of stinging, poisonous and thorny plants growing all around site as well as lots of insects, spiders, cats, birds, mice, rabbits, hares and all sorts of other wildlife that you will see from time to time. Some do like to chance their arm and come indoors, so please feel free to remove them from any buildings taking care not to hurt them if they do appear.
  • Slippery surfaces – Remember…wet surfaces can be slippery! Decks, floors in the kitchen and toilets and the floor in the Wellness Area are often wet from cleaning, rain or exiting the icebaths/seaweed baths. Please take very good care when walking on these surfaces.
